Sharp-Gurtner
Certified Pilates and Iyengar Yoga teacher, SynerChi® presenter, educator and principal of art of motion training in movement®, established in Switzerland and Australia.
Karin is a certified instructor for Matwork, Reformer and Studio Pilates. She completed her training courses in various countries with well renowned training organizations such as Polestar, The Pilates Room and Pilates International. In 2003 Karin was privileged to do presenter training with Kimberley Garlick from The Pilates Room, a trainer she still regards as one of her most inspirational lecturers.
Furthermore Karin is a member of the Pilates Alliance Australasia and the Pilates Method Alliance, as well as associate member of IICT (International Institute for Complementary Therapists) and member of the Australian Fitness Network and Deutscher Pilates
Verband.
Karin is a registered Pilates provider for the health funds MBF, AHM and HBF.
In 2003 Karin completed her certification in Iyengar Yoga with Linda Healey, former director to the Yoga Company.
Before solely focusing on the body-mind training methods Karin has completed 13 certified educations and numerous further educations in the field of group fitness and personal training and has been working in the fitness industry and instructing for the last 15 years. Since 2004 Karin has:
- Successfully run Pilates teacher-training courses in Switzerland and Australia.
- Been the exclusive Pilates educator for YMCA in Western Australia.
- Been the preferred Pilates educator for Zest Health Clubs in Western Australia.
- Trained and further educated the instructors of the Hilton Resort on the Maldives.
- Lectured at TAFE.
- Been invited to lecture Pilates training courses exclusively to physiotherapists.
- Conducted in-house training courses for various studios in Perth and Switzerland.
- Presented at Filex and WAFIC.
- Launched the Motion in Mind convention in Switzerland.
Currently Karin is working on the new Remedial Pilates training course and SynerChi®, art of motion’s unique movement art. Also involved are her Swiss lecturers and art of motion associated movement teachers; they promise both courses will be something to look forward to!
