Gemma was introduced to the Pilates Method during her rehabilitation of a back injury in 2001. So positive was the effect Pilates had on her pain and function, she decided to change careers to become a Pilates Instructor. For the past seven years, Gemma has been teaching Pilates in a variety of equipment-based studios, both in Perth and Switzerland, and has had the opportunity to work in teams with other allied health practitioners. During her career, Gemma has been given the opportunity to develop management skills within Pilates studios as well as outside of the Pilates industry. Gemma was introduced to art of motion at a training course in 2009 and found the contemporary approach so inspiring that she enrolled into each remaining course that year. She has recently completed her Certificate IV in Contemporary Pilates & Teaching Methodology and is Business Manager for art of motion training in movement.
