DIPLOMA IN SLINGS MYOFASCIAL TRAINING

Congratulations you have completed (or are about to complete) the 5 Slings Myofascial Training modules!

 

Also, well done for rounding off your education with the diploma course, a smart decision.

 

 

Based on current adult education principles, the Slings diploma certification is an assessment of your skills and knowledge as well as an opportunity to refine them, to clarify questions and to consolidate your understanding.

 

The certification comprises 3 main components:

  • Certification course participation.
  • Thesis.
  • Lesson plan.

  

  

CERTIFICATION COURSE

The 2 days will be a dynamic mix of teaching, moving, quizzing, presenting your thesis, reflecting and consolidating your knowledge of myofascial training.

 

We encourage you to complete the certification course within two years of beginning your Slings training. The examination material refers to course content spanning the previous two years.

   

Duration

2 days / 14 hours.

  

Format

Face to face.

  

Course Content

The course comprises 7 main components:

  • Teaching (you).
  • Moving (you).
  • Answering quiz questions (you).
  • Thesis presentation (your).
  • Reflecting (you).
  • Giving and receiving feedback (you).
  • Short lectures (assessor).

 

   

Teaching • Participating • Reflecting

Teaching will be done in pairs or small groups.

 

Teaching

Components of your lesson plan will be used during the course.

You will use short sequences for self-practice and to teach mini-lessons to other students.

 

Participating

You will participate in movement sequences of other participants.

  

Answering Questions

Over the course of the two days you will answer quiz questions by yourself and in small groups. The answers will give you and the assessor an insight into your current level of knowledge and will help to clarify uncertainties.

   

Thesis Presentation

You will present your thesis to a group of fellow students.

Your presentation can be purely oral, or practical components can be integrated or a flip chart used. The duration of the presentation is 15 minutes.

   

Reflecting

You will reflect on your own movement, teaching and presentation skills as well as your quiz performance.

You will share your reflections with your fellow students and give verbal feedback on their performance.

   

Feedback

You will give and receive feedback on teaching performance, movement practice and thesis presentations.

    

Skill Refinement

During the certification course Slings exercises and myofascial training techniques will be practiced, taught and assessed to refine your movement and teaching skills.

   

Knowledge Consolidation

Short lectures given by the assessor are incorporated to consolidate your existing knowledge of Slings Myofascial Training.
 

  

DIPLOMA Thesis

The thesis shows your understanding and interpretation of the application of Slings Myofascial Training.

You can choose your topic. The topic must be relevant to:

  • Training fascia consciously.
  • Anatomy Trains applied to movement.
  • Slings Myofascial Training aims and principles.

   

Criteria

  • Relevant.
  • Current.
  • Based on your own thoughts and experiences.
  • References to other people’s work are to be labelled as such.

   

    

LESSON PLAN

The lesson plan shows your understanding of how to incorporate Slings Myofascial Training in a practical way into your teaching.

Content

The lesson must include:

  • 75% Slings in Motion repertoire.
  • Exercises for all Anatomy Trains lines.

The duration of the lesson is 60 minutes.

The lesson can be designed for one-to-one or group training, or your own practice.
